Unless you tie the string tight against the hilt of the kirpan, the kirpan will keep falling out of this gatra. Doing it in that way will force you to untie the knot every time you want to pull the kirpan. In real self defense situations, this is an issue. If youre looking for something to hold a ceremonial kirpan you will never draw, this is fine. If looking for something that is actually usable by a Shastardari Khalsa, this has some drawbacks. This is using a kirpan purchased from same vendor
